Rooftops by: Lostprophets

So I’ve been playing Guitar Hero World Tour every now and then. Rooftops is one of the songs my little sister loves to sing to, and it’s one of the songs that has caught my attention because of the meaningful lyrics.

When our time is up
When our lives are done
Will we say, we’ve had our fun

Will we make a mark this time
Will we always say we tried

We’re standing on the rooftops
Everybody scream your heart out
Standing on the rooftops
Everybody scream your heart out

Standing on the rooftops
Everybody scream your heart out
This is all we got now
Everybody scream your heart out

All the love I’ve met
I have no regrets
If it all ends now, I’m set

Will we make a mark this time
Will we always say we tried

We’re standing on the rooftops
Everybody scream your heart out
Standing on the rooftops
Everybody scream your heart out

Standing on the rooftops
Everybody scream your heart out
This is all we got now
Everybody scream your heart out

Standing on the rooftops
Wait until the bombs drop
This is all we got now
Scream until your heart stops

Never gonna regret
Watching every sunset
We’ll, listen to your heartbeat
All the love that we found

Standing on the rooftops
Wait until the bombs drop
This is all we got now
Scream until your heart stops

Never gonna regret
Watching every sunset
We’ll, listen to your heartbeat
All the love that we found

Scream your heart out
Scream your heart out
Scream your heart out
Scream your

Standing on the rooftops
Everybody scream your heart out
Standing on the rooftops
Everybody scream your heart out

Standing on the rooftops
Everybody scream your heart out
This is all we got now
Everybody scream your

In the chorus it says “Everybody scream your hearts out.” That is the best way to live life, by following your heart, not by what society says, not by prejudice, but by how your own heart really feels. That’s how you leave your mark. People get so busy with everything that has been going on around them, but they don’t seem to stop and just take a breath. They really let life pass them by.

As long as you are happy with your life, and you live it with no regrets, and you do everything because you believe in it, then you have lived your life. You have lived within the moment.

..That’s what I would like you to do.. stop and take a breath. Let me enjoy your life with you as you enjoy mine with me. I don’t want to wait until later, where I don’t even know if you will still be there with me.

I’ve been thinking about getting back into reading. I used to read a lot, but I’ve stopped for a while. I want to read books that I could gain something from; not to read only for pure entertainment, but also to learn something. So I went on Barnes and Noble’s web site and looked up best selling self-improvement books. Self-improvement books are good books to read to learn about life and what is essential in our life. Everyone needs to self-improve because no one is perfect.

I’m thinking of purchasing The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch later after work. It’s about a computer science professor, who is actually Randy Pausch himself, was asked to give a lecture that’s about what matters to them most. He didn’t think it would be his last lecture because he was diagnosed with terminal cancer. The title of his lecture is “Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams.” It’s about the importance of “overcoming obstacles, of enabling the dreams of others, of seizing every moment…it was about living” (taken from synopsis).

I think the other book I’d like to read, though I heard bits and pieces of it is the Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. This book is about a shepherd boy who journeys to find worldly treasures. During his journey he encounters the Alchemist. The stories of the treasure that the boy finds teaches us “about the essential wisdom of listening to our hearts, learning to read the omens strewn along life’s path, and, above all, following our dreams” (taken from synopsis). Thanks to dearest Leizel, I get to borrow it from her.

I actually can’t wait to start reading again. Thank God I have a big bag so I could put a reading book and my quote book in it. I’d just have to take out all the other crap I have in there.

Anyways, ciao for now.

So I was just thinking, and this is totally random by the way, this past Friday before my usual bowling league, while I was leaving from Bounce, this boba place, I’m turning right out from a parking lot and this guy is giving way for me. And I see his little boy in the truck and the little boy is smiling and waving hi at me. That pretty much made my Friday. And yes, it’s as simple as a little kid waving and smiling at me that gets me going. It’s their innocence that makes me smile, because they don’t know anything and they don’t have to worry about anything. There are so many times where I feel I just want to be a child again, not knowing how it feels to take on responsibilities and thinking how to get through life. They don’t know what it feels to get hurt except by having a wound on their leg. The only thing that a child and I have in common is that we both haven’t seen the world yet.

On another note, Lauren, one of my affies, read the poem from my last entry and suggested a poem about love that is found in the Bible, none other than 1 Corinthians 13:4-7:

“Love is patient,
love is kind.
It does not envy,
it does not boast,
it is not proud.
It is not rude,
it is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered.
It keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects,
always trusts,
always hopes,
always preserves.”

This is one of my favorite poems about love. It’s so beautiful. I think it describes love perfectly because that how I feel love should be.

Yesterday I gave a presentation in my health class about Balance of Life. I think it’s important for everyone to stop and take a look all the important things in life: family, significant other, work, school, etc. Learn how to give equal attention to each aspect of your life so that one does not take over.

At this moment I’m imbalanced. I can feel it. I know it. I need your time. I need my time. That’s it end of story.

I’m trying to be positive in every way I can.

“There’s more to life than what we see” - Unknown

What does that mean to you? It’s not all about the money, the big house, the car, the parties that makes my life worth living. It’s all about the love I have that I can give to others without nothing in return (but I have to admit, knowing that someone loves me makes my life even better). It’s about the passion I feel for something and sharing it with others. The fact that I have a positive impact on people’s life makes my life even more worthwhile. I have one shot at life. And I want to make sure I live it the way I should be living it. By absorbing my experiences that I have gone through and learning from it makes me a better and stronger person. How you choose to live is the way you define your life. I want to define it in a way where I can look back and just smile.
