I’ve been thinking about getting back into reading. I used to read a lot, but I’ve stopped for a while. I want to read books that I could gain something from; not to read only for pure entertainment, but also to learn something. So I went on Barnes and Noble’s web site and looked up best selling self-improvement books. Self-improvement books are good books to read to learn about life and what is essential in our life. Everyone needs to self-improve because no one is perfect.

I’m thinking of purchasing The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch later after work. It’s about a computer science professor, who is actually Randy Pausch himself, was asked to give a lecture that’s about what matters to them most. He didn’t think it would be his last lecture because he was diagnosed with terminal cancer. The title of his lecture is “Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams.” It’s about the importance of “overcoming obstacles, of enabling the dreams of others, of seizing every moment…it was about living” (taken from synopsis).

I think the other book I’d like to read, though I heard bits and pieces of it is the Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. This book is about a shepherd boy who journeys to find worldly treasures. During his journey he encounters the Alchemist. The stories of the treasure that the boy finds teaches us “about the essential wisdom of listening to our hearts, learning to read the omens strewn along life’s path, and, above all, following our dreams” (taken from synopsis). Thanks to dearest Leizel, I get to borrow it from her.

I actually can’t wait to start reading again. Thank God I have a big bag so I could put a reading book and my quote book in it. I’d just have to take out all the other crap I have in there.

Anyways, ciao for now.

I’m so tired. I think sleeping at past 3AM sort of killed it for me. Yesterday when I came home from work I figured I’d take a nap, but I hate taking a nap unless it’s earlier in the day. I ended up not napping and headed over my lover’s place to spend a little bit of time with him. Then we headed to Kristine’s place to see how’s she’s doing, be with the rest of the family, and attend the prayer service for her mom Editha.

After work I’ll head to the lover’s place again, maybe take a nap? Or hang out with friends before bowling league. Anyways it’s already 5. I’m getting off work soon, like now.

Rant later? Ciao.

TMI Tuesday #141 - Marriage Edition

1. Do you believe in marriage? Yes I do.

2. What is marriage to you? Marriage is when 2 people join as one in heart, with love, faith and trust within each other. I can’t wait until I have that.

3. If you are married, why did you do it? If you are not, why have you not married? I’m not married because I’m not ready. I’d like to finish school and have a stable career before I get married. And the person I do get married to will also be done with school and have a stable career.

4. Do you believe in divorce? Yes I do. Sometimes relationships doesn’t end up going to way 2 people want it to go. If you are not happy after getting married, then get yourself out.

5. If you are divorced, why did you do it? If you have not, are there certain circumstances under which you would agree to a divorce? I’ll divorce only if my relationship with my significant other isn’t going to well and seems like what we have can’t be fixed. If I’m unhappy and he is unhappy then we shouldn’t be together.

Bonus (as in optional): [ed note:I am not trying to spark a get political debate, I am much to superficial for that]

Do you believe that same sex marriages are a threat to traditional marriages? No I don’t think same sex marriages are a threat to anything.. If you are gay/lesbian and want to marry the person who you are in love with and that’s what makes you happy, then by all means, go for it.

More to update later. I’ve got a shit load on my mind.
